What's new, and what's stayed the same
The screen is at the heart of this new product. Instead of an LCD panel, ASUS has used 7.4-inch OLED ROG Nebula HDR with 120 Hz, Dolby Vision support, VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification, and brightness up to 1,400 nits in HDR, plus an anti-glare coating. The design has also changed: a semi-transparent black casing with gold accents highlights the model’s anniversary edition status.
To be fair, though, there’s no revolution underneath. ASUS has left the same AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme configuration, as seen in the ROG Xbox Ally X. So this is a mid-cycle refresh—focusing on better visuals and an anniversary edition, rather than a performance boost.
- OLED screen ROG Nebula HDR 7.4" instead of the current LCD.
- Higher brightness (up to 1,400 nits in HDR) and an anti-glare coating.
- New housing — translucent, with gold accents (ROG 20th Anniversary Edition).
- AR Glasses Set ROG XReal R1 Edition 20 (virtual, large gaming screen).
- Without changing the layout — still AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme.
