The DIGITUS® HDMI eARC converter/splitter offers 2 operating modes: Mode 1 -> eARC audio signal extractor – connect an HDMI 2.0 device (e.g., Xbox Series X, PS5) to a UHD TV while continuing to use your old AVR (audio-video receiver). Uncompressed 5.1/7.1 multichannel audio, as well as ATMOS and DTS, can be extracted from the TV’s eARC or ARC port signal and sent to any standard HDMI (WITHOUT an eARC port) on an older AVR or soundbar. Streaming devices/USB drives, satellite TV, and streaming apps on Smart TVs all benefit from the best possible audio quality. Mode 2 -> Audio Splitter – Thanks to the local HDMI input and the ability to disable eARC extraction on the switch, it is possible to split the audio stream from any multi-channel HDMI audio source and send the video signal to any HDMI 2.0 TV. The audio output provides a black 720p image, ensuring compatibility with any older audio-video receiver with an HDMI 1.3 or higher interface.
