HP KVM Console Kits provide high-density, high-performance KVM consoles that combine a rack-mount display panel and a keyboard with a TouchPad in a 1U form factor. The 1U form factor allows the KVM console switch to be mounted directly behind the console. The HP LCD8500 1U Rackmount Console Kit, featuring an 18.5" WXGA TFT BrightView LCD screen, supports the most common resolutions, up to 1600 x 1200 at a refresh rate of 60–75 Hz. The LCD8500 1U Rackmount Console Kit features a new silver enclosure for easy identification in the rack. The rack-mounted keyboard includes a TouchPad with 3 buttons and 4 scroll buttons, as well as Windows shortcut keys. The LCD8500 1U Rackmount Console Kit includes a new screen management feature called Lid Switch, which turns off the screen backlight when the console is closed and turns it back on with the same settings when opened, helping to extend the display panel’s service life.
