Do you need a cost-effective processor that provides fast access to data on directly attached drives or shared storage, but don’t have room in your server for additional memory? The HP H241 Smart HBA features a low-profile PCIe 3.0 x8 controller, and its vertical form factor provides Gen9 servers with reliable, high-performance SAS connections to data on directly attached and shared storage. Equipped with eight external physical ports, it delivers SAS performance of 12 Gb/s. The H241 Smart HBA supports operation in either HBA mode or simple RAID mode. When operating in simple RAID mode, it offers RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 5 options, as well as optional HP Secure Encryption features. Unlike HP Smart Array controllers, the H241 does not offer any acceleration, acceleration modules, or caches. The controller is also ideal for backing up data to tape on external drives.
