Network switches, load management systems, and routers are installed at the top and rear of the cabinet, away from the cold air aisle at the front of the cabinet. This placement hinders the flow of cold air from the front of the cabinet to the air intakes of the network switches and increases the risk of failure over time. SwitchAir prevents failures by directing cold air from the front of the cabinet to the air intakes of the networking equipment, regardless of where it is mounted.
